Snowflake Bentley Comprehension

Today DS8 and DS6 watched this read aloud about Wilson Bentley who was Home Educated by his mother.

And read a bit about him online.

Wilson Alwyn "Snowflake" Bentley (February 9, 1865 – December 23, 1931) is one of the first known photographers of snowflakes.[1] He perfected a process of catching flakes on black velvet in such a way that their images could be captured before they either melted or sublimated.

I then gave the boys the following questions to answer:

When was Bentley born?

Where is he from?

Did he go to school?

What was he gifted for his15th birthday?

How did this help with his findings?

His father bought him a camera at the age of 19. How did this help him with his experiments?
