Robotics Course

DS11 was on a free Robotics course all weekend at The Hive in Shipley, Bradford 10-4pm.

He had an amazing time, paid attention to all the instructions he was given and enjoyed using a multimeter for the first time.
This informal course was about having fun building a small robot that can move, see, hear and sense the world around it. Participants didn't need any prior experience and was suitable for complete beginners. The course was ‘hands-on’ and ‘learning-by-doing’ – he learnt about and made simple electronics circuits using LEDs, motors and other components. He also learnt how to solder and construct simple devices that sensed what was going on around them and then react. To do this they used simple micro-controllers like Arduino and Raspberry PI.
