Cosy Winter Reading

Winter is almost upon us! Now is the time to cosy up in front of the fire in pyjamas with hot chocolate and favourite stories!

Look out for lovely winter tales at your local library or bookstore. Here are some we'll be reserving:

Otto The Book Bear in the Snow by Katie Cleminson

'Otto and Ernest love nothing more than for their book to be borrowed and read. But this winter they are desperate to get back to the library for the special winter party. It's time for an incredible adventure through the snow.'

Little One by Jo Weaver

'Big Bear stepped out of her winter den. By her side, half asleep and blinking in the spring sunshine, wobbled a tiny cub. Spring is here and new life is stirring. There is so much for Big Bear to teach her new cub as they step out into the forest. Their journey will take them through summer and autumn and winter, always together, always discovering.'

The Snow Beast by Chris Judge

'Beast has been robbed! And so has the whole village. Without tools the villagers can't put on their legendary winter festival, so Beast sets off to solve the mystery. Discovering that a stranded snow beast is behind the robbery, Beast has to decide whether to help this odd-looking stranger.'

Robin's Winter Song by Suzanne Barton

'The forest was bustling with activity. As the red and orange leaves swirled in the wind, Robin started to worry. Something was changing. Finch was flying south, because Winter was coming. Squirrel was burying food, because Winter was coming. Even Owl was making his nest warm. Why? That's right - because Winter was coming. Robin decided he didn't like the sound of Winter one little bit. But that was before the snow.'

All Hands on Deck by Richard Dungworth

'Shiver me timbers! Captain Cutlass's crew don't want to come out because they say it's too cold! How can he persuade them to come out and have some freezing fun?'

What book will you be reading this winter with your little ones?
