Mapping our Hedgehog sighting

It was so exciting to finally see hedgehogs in our garden this year. Last year the kiddies made a hedgehog home but sadly we didn't see any. This June, as part of 30 Days Wild, they sure the home was safe for hedgehogs to use, with plenty of dry leaves on the floor.

We recorded our sighting on the Big Hedgehog Map (see link below)

Today we have been making 'Animal Factfiles' about hedgehogs by making a booklet and researching Hedgehogs using the internet and books. These are the questions we thought about:-

What does the animal look like?

What is its habitat?

What does the animal eat?

How does it defend itself?

How does it look after its young?

What else have you found out?
